How to Winterizine Your Kayak Pool & Filter Sand Filter
 
**CAUTION:
 
  • Pool chemicals may give off corrosive fumes.
  • Store chemicals away from system in a well ventilated area.
  • Keep this and all chemicals away from children, pets & open flame.

Note: Allowing water to freeze will damage filter and void the warranty. If antifreeze is needed, use propylene glycol; its plastic compatible and non-toxic. Follow manufactures instructions. Do not use ethylene glycol based antifreeze, it's toxic and it may damage plastic components.

 
  • Turn pump off.
  • Set valve handle to waste.
  • Turn pump on and run until water is lowered to desired level.
  • Turn pump off.
  • Open all system valves. Set multi-port valve at winterize to allow air passage to all ports.
  • Remove drain plug from filter
  • Drain filter tank completely and replace drain cap.
  • Cover with plastic or tarpaulin to protect from weather, but do not seal from air circulation.
