- Always add a stabilizer or conditioner to the above ground pool at the beginning of the season. This will prevent chlorine burn-off. Follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully.

Shock the pool with chlorine to rid the water of all contaminants before beginning with FROG. Follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully.**WARNING: Do not add shock in or near the skimmer or into the Cycler as it could damage equipment, risk potential explosion or discolor your pool surface. THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT TO START UP. USE CHLORINE SHOCK ONLY.
- When chlorine reading is down to .5 PPM install a FROG Mineral Reservoir into the Cycler and replace the cap.
- Run the Cycler with Reservoir inserted for 10 minutes on Maximum setting.
- Open cap and remove Flow Control Pac and discard.
- Insert chlorine Bac Pac.
- Set the Control Dial.
